Trough Bottom Petroleum Trailer

The trough bottom petroleum trailer is our fastest unloading DOT-406 trailer style.  With a pitch that is greater than even the deepest drop double taper, the trailer is designed to drain completely and quickly in the most challenging environments.  By bypassing the surge baffles present in most compartments, the product is allowed to flow unobstructed to the unloading sump.  The damning effect of the surge baffles is what slows the flow of liquid in a conventional straight bottom or double taper trailer.  The trough bottom trailer excels in the unloading of low viscosity fluids such as gasoline, ethanol, diesel and solvents.

Manholes: 16" Civacon strongback style with a 10" fill and DOT-406 venting.

Vapor Collection Vent: Civacon #T196SV aluminum air operated inward opening sequential vents with stainless steel trim & Viton seats.

Vapor Recovery Lines: 4" Aluminum internal vapor line through mid-tank to (2) flanged 4" vapor outlets.

Emergency Valve: Civacon "MaxAir" 5" x 4" Hi Flo, air operated, internal cylinder, with Tef-O-Sil seals.

Piping: 4" schedule #10 aluminum discharge piping with large radius formed sweeps to curbside of tank with Viton gaskets.  Sight glasses, manifolds, pump lines, and cross-over lines are optional.

Discharge Valve: 4" Civacon 891A openable adapters with aluminum handle and Viton seals.  4" API to 4" cam style hose adapters and caps.

Secondary Overfill Prevention: Civacon ROM II system.  Overfill sockets with integral ground proving wires.

Brake Interlock: Safety interference bar with lock down pin handle over discharge valves and front vapor outlet.  Rear vapor outlet has a separate interlock valve.

Pumps, Meters, Reels: Customer specified.

Ladder: Front or rear aluminum ladder with serrated rungs, platform top step and hand rails above overturn rails.

Walkway: Adhesive backed, skid-resistant tape between flashing rails.  Expanded metal optional.

Cabinet: 16”, 24”, 33”, 48”, 60, or 72” aluminum cabinets with stainless steel hinges, water resistant seals and numerous shelving configurations.

Landing Legs: JOST A-HEIL Magnum 2-speed with 62,500# lift capacity, sand shoes and streetside crank.

Hose Carrier: Customer specified hose tray or hose tube combinations.

Fenders: Aluminum contour fenders with Heil anti sail/anti spray mud flaps front and rear.

Lights: 12V Truck-Lite flange mount LED lamp system complying to FMVSS with conspicuity markings each side and rear.

Suspension: Hendrickson Intraax air ride with single leveling valve.

Axles: HP type spindles (parallel), 71.5” or 77.5” track, integral to suspension.

Brake System: Haldex 4S-2M ABS system with TRS Roll Stability System.  Disk brakes are optional.

Suspension Frame: Aluminum suspension subframe.  Suspension is bolted to subframe with electrolysis barrier.

Oil Seals: Visible caps with OEM seals.

Hubs and Drums: 10 stud hub piloted aluminum hubs with factory preset bearing adjustment.  Centrifuse outboard mount brake drums (16.5" x 7").

Paint: DuPont Imron 5000 series silver metallic polyurethane enamel paint on steel parts only.
